Breaking News for In-Person Delegates!

On Wednesday August 14, we received notification that our chosen venue for the conference, Manly Pacific Hotel, had cancelled our booking for the Fairy Bower Room owing to ‘urgent non-avoidable remedial works’ at the hotel. I’m sure you’d agree this is incredibly upsetting and inconvenient for all involved. We are pleased to announce the replacement venue is the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour at Circular Quay (pictured below). We will still provide a return transfer coach from Manly Pacific Hotel to Taronga Zoo for delegates at Manly to get to the Gala Dinner.

Travel Information

Getting to Sydney

Sydney is one of the largest cities in Australia. Several airlines offer direct flights to Sydney from Asia and North America. Most flights to Sydney from Europe require a stopover.

Please note: some of this information is now redundant for some delegates owing to the change of conference venue to Circular Quay (near Sydney Harbour Bridge on the map below), however it is still useful for delegates with accommodation committed to Manly.

Getting to Manly from the Airport

Taxi/Uber:

Toll Road 30min

Non-Toll Road 55min

Public Transport:

Airport to Circular Quay by train (dark green line)

Circular Quay to Manly by ferry (light green line)

Total Time 60min

Getting to Manly from Sydney CBD

By Car / Taxi/Uber: 20-30min

By Public Transport: Ferry 20min (Circular Quay to Manly)

Mon-Fri: the ferry runs every 20min between 5.30am and midnight

Sat-Sun: the ferry runs every 20-30min between 6.30am and midnight

Getting to Manly Pacific Hotel from Manly Ferry Terminal

Please Note: On Wednesday August 14, we received notification that our chosen venue for the conference, Manly Pacific Hotel, had cancelled our booking for the Fairy Bower Room owing to ‘urgent non-avoidable remedial works’ at the hotel. Despite this incredibly upsetting news, our plan is to still use Manly Pacific Hotel as a central meeting point for delegates based at Manly who require the transfer coach to the Gala Dinner at Taronga Zoo, therefore the information below is still pertinent. From Manly Ferry Terminal, cross the road at the traffic lights and head down the pedestrian mall (The Corso) for about 300m to the end where you will see Manly Beach. Turn left along the esplanade (North Steyne Road) for about 200m and you will see the Manly Pacific Hotel.

Visa Requirements

All non-Australian citizens require a visa to enter Australia (New Zealand passport holders can apply for a visa upon arrival). For information on visas to enter Australia and other travel advice, please seek the most up-to-date information from Australia’s official tourism website and the Australian Department of Home Affairs:

Australia has very strict biosecurity laws and requirements. Travellers are required to complete an ‘Incoming passenger card’ upon arrival in Australia. We suggest you take a pen with you on the plane. For further information:

Accommodation

We recommend delegates stay in and around Circular Quay to be near the conference venue, the Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour. Please book accommodation as soon as possible because UltraPath XXI occurs during school holidays.
